Malini Parthasarathy Soni

Malini Parthasarathy Soni is a Clinical & Counselling Psychologist | Developmental Counsellor | Career Guidance Expert | Biographical Consultant | Life Skills & Behavioural Coach

Malini is a seasoned mental health professional whose journey bridges two decades of corporate leadership, developmental counselling, and therapeutic education. Beginning her career with a postgraduate degree in Management, she worked in the financial and treasury sectors with global organisations such as ABN Amro, Microsoft, ING, and GE India. These experiences offered her a rich understanding of human behaviour, communication patterns, stress responses, and organisational dynamics. This early foundation has significantly shaped her grounded, insightful, and empathetic approach to therapeutic work.

In 2011, Malini transitioned fully into the field of psychological counselling, guided by a deep commitment to emotional wellbeing and human development. Since then, she has worked extensively with children, adolescents, parents, young adults, professionals, and the elderly, supporting them through emotional, academic, relational, behavioural, and life-stage challenges. Her counselling style blends compassion with clarity and practical strategies, enabling individuals to build resilience, develop self-awareness, and navigate change authentically. Malini has been associated with Prafulta since 2015, contributing to the Vocational Guidance Team, offering emotional wellbeing counselling at Tolani College, and conducting developmental workshops under the EDCG programme. Her work consistently reflects her dedication to youth empowerment and community mental health. Since 2023, she has been Faculty at the William Glasser Institute India, where she mentors students in Choice Theory and Reality Therapy. Her grounding in CTRT further strengthens her focus on personal responsibility, effective decision-making, and emotional regulation.

Her therapeutic framework is enriched by her training in Waldorf education, Anthroposophic Psychotherapy, Biographical Counselling, NLP, and evidence-based psychological approaches. This integration enables her to offer holistic, personalised, and development-oriented support.

Malini believes that “enabling emotional clarity early in life creates responsible and fulfilled adults,” a philosophy that guides her preventive and growth-focused approach to mental health.

She speaks fluent English, Hindi and Tamil while she also understands Punjabi.
