Counselling Psychotherapy

At Prafulta, we offer Individual, Group, and Family Counselling to support those seeking help to navigate and overcoming life’s challenges.

What is Psychotherapy & Counselling?

Counselling provides a healthy, constructive way to deal with psychological, emotional and adjustment concerns. These unresolved issues often build up over time, so it’s important to understand that counselling is not a quick fix, but a process. It involves a series of sessions (each approximately 50 minutes) where you gradually become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour patterns. With this awareness, you can make positive, lasting changes to a healthier and happier way of living.

In India, we use the terms counselling & psychotherapy interchangeably. However, psychotherapy is a professional term. Counselling is used in various scenarios, even outside the psychological realm. Yet, we tend to use both the terms for ease of use for the lay person.

How can a Therapist / Counsellor help you?

Our professional therapists/counsellors are trained and skilled psychologists, offering a supportive, caring and non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely. They will help you:

  • Develop self-awareness
  • Understand and process your emotions
  • Express your feelings in healthy ways
  • Embrace the present and move on from the past

Is Counselling just Giving Advice?

No. Counselling is not about advice-giving. Instead, it’s about helping you explore your values, define your goals, discover your passions, and find your own answers. A counsellor acts more like a mentor or coach, empowering you to build a deeply satisfying and meaningful life.

Is Counselling Confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of professional counselling. What you share during your sessions stays between you and your counsellor. Your privacy is respected and kept strictly confidential, creating a safe and trusting space for your well-being journey.
