Monsoon Masti! Saathi Get-Together

The Saathi Programme at Dominic Savio reaches out to the ex-boarders who have lived at the school boarding (a boarding facility for students who come from difficult circumstances at home). After they complete Class 10 and move out into the world, the programme continues to support them through a network of counsellor-mentors who walk alongside them for the next three years.

The counsellors, or Saathis, stay connected with the boys throughout the year—meeting them in person, speaking with them online, and offering guidance and support as they navigate the challenges of early adulthood.

Once a year, the boys come together at Dominic Savio School for a special Saathi get-together. This year, the gathering was called “Monsoon Masti.

The programme began with an address by Father Franco, Rector, followed by a series of lively icebreakers that quickly brought everyone into the spirit of the day. This was followed by mentor-mentee interactions, giving the boys and their Saathis an opportunity to reconnect, share and catch up with one another.

The boys also had a chance to enjoy some of the games they had played during their boarding days. The fun continued with a football match between the former boarders and the current boarders, bringing together two generations of boys who have been part of the Dominic Savio boarding community.

Father Godfrey, Director of Prafulta, and Hayden, who volunteers with the boarders, were present at the gathering. Shalu Mehrotra, who coordinates the work of the counsellors, also participated in the programme.

Monsoon Masti was an afternoon of connection, laughter, games and meaningful interaction—an opportunity for the boys to meet their Saathis, reconnect with old friends and strengthen the relationships that continue to support them as they move forward in life.
