Alisha Pinto joined Prafulta in December 2021 as a Coordinator for Community Outreach. She holds a Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy (2019) from TISS Mumbai and an Advance Diploma in Counselling Psychology (2021) from Don Bosco Prafulta. Alisha has completed Nritya Alankar (Masters) in Kathak. She is a SET qualified Post-graduate in Commerce and has worked as Lecturer across colleges in Mumbai for three years.
Alisha strongly believes in the therapeutic power of art and movement and is passionate about taking it forward to as many as she can. She works largely in community settings and facilitates group sessions with young girls and women who face marginalization and are survivors of gender based violence. Although her expertise lies is in the area of Dance Movement Therapy, Alisha has an eclectic approach and uses a trauma-informed, psychosocial lens with her clients. She has worked across diverse populations such as elders with dementia, neurodivergent and neurotypical children, college students, corporate leaders, employees and young adults in both group and private settings. Through various outreach programmes of Prafulta, Alisha hopes to contribute in making mental healthcare more accessible and inclusive.
