Godfrey D’Sa is a Catholic Priest belonging to the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), an International Organization that works with children and youth in difficult situations. He has a Masters in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counseling from New York. Godfrey is the Founder Director of Prafulta Psychological Services. He was the past president of the Salesian Psychological Association (SPA) and is currently the president of the Conference of Catholic Psychologists of India (CCPI). Godfrey conducts a variety of programs on affective and emotional growth. He does individual and group counseling and also conducts training modules in counseling skills. He has recently completed his training in Somatic Experiencing in London.

Consultant / Visiting Faculty

  • Dr. Aarti D. Pereira – Occupational Therapist

Aarti has completed her Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) and her Masters degree (Early Intervention & School-based therapy) from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. She has also completed courses in DIR Floortime Approach, Family Systems Theory, and Brain Gym besides numerous other seminars and workshops related to Occupational Therapy practices with children. Aarti has been a faculty member at the University at Buffalo where she taught  occupational therapy courses to undergraduate students. She has also worked in schools with  children with disabilities. At Prafulta, Aarti provides Occupational Therapy services to children of various age groups. She also screens Kindergarten students in various schools for possible developmental delays.

  • Amitabh Seth – Clinical Psychologist , Counselor

Amitabh is working in the field of mental health since a period of almost fifteen years. The Psycho-Analytic system is at the core of his psychotherapeutic work with his clients. He also conducts Psychological testing and specializes in intellectual assessments. Since his Masters in Clinical Psychology he has successfully completed the Tavistock Model Bombay Course in Psycho-Analytical Observation. He has also successfully completed Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology from Xaviers Institute of Counselling Psychology.

  • Dr. Asha R.Shethia – Occupational therapist

Asha graduated in Occupational Therapy from Grant Medical College. She has been working with Prafulta for the last 11 years and has also been working with Sanjivani Special School for last 5 years. She has 14 years of experience working in hospitals (B.Y.L Nair, L.T.M.G Sion).

  • Asha Dhandhaliya – Coordinator & Career Guidance Counselor

Asha is a post graduate in Social Psychology and has worked with private setups, school,corporate and NGOs as a Psychologist for more than 7 years. Besides, she holds Diploma in Human Resource Management. She has worked in the area of Emotional Counselling, Career Guidance, life skills training, and conducting workshops for children & parents, personality development camps, organizing events, and training for the corporate. Currently, she is working with Prafulta as a Career Guidance Counselor & managing team of Vocational Career Guidance.

  • Akshata Kulkarni – Visiting Faculty

Akshata is a visiting faculty at Prafulta. She is a Counselling Psychologist, Life Skills Trainer, Career Guidance Counsellor and a Remedial Educator since 2010. She is trained in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) with Invivo Services and Morphic Minds, an Albert Ellis Institute affiliate. Her training is both for personal growth in children and adolescents as well as adults. To understand the challenges of students and teachers better she trained herself in Waldorf Education and worked as a learning facilitator in The Reading Tree pre-primary school. Presently, she works as a Counselor/Remedial Educator with Rise and Shine Child Development Center. She is the founding member of Evam, an organisation that aims at holistic wellbeing of children and adults, using a workshop methodology.

  • Deepal Jain – Career Guidance Counselor

Deepal is a post graduate in Finance Management and has worked with Stock Broking companies on their Research Desk. She is associated with Society Moved to Instill Love with Empathy (SMILE) for the past 6 years and has been on their Trustee panel since 4 years. Besides, she has done her Diploma in Counseling, Life Skills Training and is trained for Career Guidance. She conducts workshops for children and their parents at various schools. Currently, she is working with Prafulta as a Vocational Career Counselor.

  • Deepanjali Tiwari – Occupational Therapist

Deepanjali has completed her Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy from Seth G. S. Medical College, Mumbai.  She has an experience working in schools and therapy centers working with kids with disabilities , ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Also she has experience in assessment and treatment of kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is associated with Prafulta since 2016 and provides therapy services to children of various age groups.

  • Divya Nair – Clinical Psychologist, Coordinator

Divya has done her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Mumbai University. She is proficient in assessment of client needs, abilities and behavior using methods including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation. She has undergone training for Neuropsychological Assessments from KEM Hospital. She has also undertaken several courses in Personal Counselling and Art Therapy. Divya has been a part of the Learning Disability Clinic at Sion Hospital for 2 years. She has also briefly worked on a government project at BYL Nair hospital. At present, she is affiliated to Prafulta at Andheri and Matunga Branches. She also works with a well known Pediatric Neurologist and is a visiting faculty at PD Hinduja College of Nursing. She has her private practice at Bhandup as well.

  • Kalyani Sakhare – Career Guidance Counselor

Kalyani has completed her masters in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from SNDT University, Churchgate. She has also done Advanced Diploma in Counseling and Life Skills Training from Prafulta. She has worked on a career counseling as well as Psychometric testing. She has been working as a counselor since past few years and has been associated with some schools.

  • Kavya Raghavan – Career Guidance Counselor.

Kavya has done her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University. She has also done a Diploma course in counseling. She has worked previously as a psychologist and a counselor with children, adolescents and young adults. She is trained in the area of Vocational Guidance.  In Prafulta, she works in the area of career guidance assessment and counseling. She has done a course on Life skills and conducts workshop for children and adolescents.

  • Leonie D’mello – Visiting Faculty

Leonie is a visiting faculty at Prafulta. She is a Psychology Graduate with a Post Graduate Degree in Social Work & Diploma in Human Resources Development. She has several years of experience as a counselor in industry & medical & psychiatric setting. She has been involved with behavioural training for more than a decade. She has also been on the faculty of Tata Institute of Social Services

  • Mimansa Popat – Consultant Special Educator, Psychotherapist, Trainer.

A founding member, Ms. Mimansa Popat heads the Integrated Education Department at Prafulta. Mimansa pursued her Post Graduation in the fields of Special Education; Counselling Psychology and Education Management. She later went on to train in NLP, AMR, and Kinesiology. She has an APA accreditation to undertake MBTI Personality Testing and uses this tool to enable clients have a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, knowing their learning style, ways of working and communicating. She has completed the Somatic Experiencing Practitioners course offered by Federation of Human Enrichment and assists trainings in Somatic Experiencing in India and overseas. She is a Faculty member of William Glasser International, which offers a therapeutic approach using Choice Theory & Reality Therapy. A Teacher Trainer with over 20 years experience, Mimansa has designed Training Modules for developing Mental Health Professionals for schools and supports schools in developing resource rooms in their institutes. Mimansa conducts Group Work & Basic Trainings in Integral Somatic Psychology in India. She is also a Practitioner using both the mind and body in relationship counselling with self and others, enabling clients to choose correctly, overcome their phobia, deal with trauma, fear and anxiety issues etc. for the last 15 years.

  • Malini Parthasarathy Soni – Vocational & Career Guidance Counselor

Malini is a post graduate in Management with 9 years of experience in Financial and Treasury with multi-national banks and companies. Adding further Malini did her Diploma in Counseling Psychology, Human Rights  and Steiner Educational course and (Basic and Advance) . She has done her Life skills training and conducts workshops in Schools for students and parents. She is a certified  NLP Practitioner. Malini has been a counselor working with parents and children for the last few years.  She believes that “Its imperative to intervene and help a child….as it helps in creating responsible mature Adults”. At Prafulta, she incorporates her work experience while counseling and providing vocational and career guidance.

  • Dr. Payal Ubale – Occupational Therapist, Coordinator

Payal has done M.O.Th (Neuroscience) from Seth G.S.M.C and KEM hospital, Mumbai. She is associated with Prafulta for the last 6 years. Her work involves assessment and treatment of children with different developmental and neurological issues. She heads a team of ten therapists and supervises their work at Prafulta, Andheri, and at various schools in the city.

  • Dr. Pranjali Kantode – Occupational Therapist

Pranjali is a Bachelor in Occupational Therapy (B Th O) from Government Medical College, Nagpur. She worked as an Occupational Therapist in Central India Association for Neuro -Developmentally Handicapped Children, Nagpur. She handled neuro-developmentally handicapped children with developmental disabilities; cerebral palsy, autism, and infantile hemiplegic.  She had attended workshop on “Autism” by Mrs. Merry Barua and attended course on “Advanced Clinical Education in Hand Rehabilitation” by Dr.Shrikant Chinchalkar, O.T.REG (ON) OTR CHT, Canada. She also attended workshop on “Sensory Integration and Executive Functioning”. She is presently affiliated to Prafulta. She is been working at Prafulta for the past seven years, conducting group therapy, assessments, treating kids with L.D, ADHD, C.P, Autistic, Developmentally delayed, and Sensory Processing  Disorder.

  • Ratandeep Chawla – Marketing Psychologist

Ratandeep Chawla, has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Mumbai University and a Post graduate Diploma in Counseling from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Post graduate Advance Diploma from Don Bosco Prafulta. She has done her internship in Drug Addiction and Alcoholism with National Addiction Research Center (NARC). She is a consultant with Prafulta Psychological Services, where she advocates the importance of Mental Health to schools, corporate and to the community.She is also a consultant with Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation for the project Life First. She is involved in providing training to health care and mental care providers in counseling patients with tobacco addiction and also counsels the tobacco dependents at Mumbai Public and trust hospitals and also has her independent practice. She is also an active member with Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI).

  • Dr. Reema Valia – Occupational Therapist

Reema has an experience of 20 years working as an Occupational Therapist. She has graduated from Lokmanya Tilak Medical College (Sion hospital) and did her post- graduation from the All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ALLPMR) Mumbai. Her work involves assessment and treatment of children with various development disabilities. She specializes in sensory integration and NDT techniques. She is associated with Prafulta since 2007.

  • Dr. Rishikesh P. Gawde – Occupational Therapist.

Rishikesh has completed Bachelor degree in Occupational therapy from MGR University (Chennai) and Master degree in pediatrics from SRM university (Chennai). He has an experience working with NIOS , SSC board school and therapy centers in Mumbai. Currently he is  working as an Occupational Therapist (Jr) at B.J Wadia Hospital for Children,Lower Parel .

  • Ritu Bhansali – Remedial & Special Educator

Ritu Bhansali has 12 years of experience with acquired proficiency in teaching children with ADD/ADHD, Learning disabilities, Processing difficulties, Autism spectrum disorder etc.Her qualifications include Bachelors in Arts with Majors in Psychology from Mithibai College (Mumbai), Diploma in Special Education in Learning Disability (AVM, Mumbai)., Diploma in Special Education NIMH (Hyderabad). She has been associated with Prafulta for 7 years. As a remedial educator, her work involves formulating an IEP and successful execution and regular assessment to gauge the progress of each client.

  • Shalu Mehrotra – Psychologist, Facilitator Coordinator

Shalu Mehrotra has been working as a Psychotherapist since 1996 and has been associated with Prafulta since 2001. She has done her Masters in Applied Psychology from University of Delhi, Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology from Xaviers Institute of Education, Mumbai. She works with emotional and adjustment issues. Life throws up varied challenges. As an adult, one could face issues in relationships, parenting, realizing one’s potential, anxiety, feeling low. As a teenager one could face confidence issues, handling peer pressure. Similarly different life stages throw up varied challenges. It is the PERSON who handles these challenges. The person comes from a background where convictions were formed. Some of us faced difficulties in childhood which form our backdrop to see current circumstances. Some of us may not have difficult situations, yet the challenge is to rise to new areas of functioning. Shalu uses a range of therapies (person centered, art, movement, anthroposophic, body based, cognitive and more) to help the person switch to newer patterns. She is the Coordinator of ‘The Don Bosco Advanced Diploma in Counselling Psychology’. She also coordinates the work of the Career Guidance team at Prafulta. Her passion is to take mental health to the masses. In that spirit, she conducts programmes for teachers, parents and counselors for emotional health issues

  • Shraddha D. Vora – Counselor and Arts Based Therapy Practitioner

Shraddha is a Counselling Psychologist from Mumbai University and Arts Based Therapy Practitioner from WCCL Foundation, Pune. She has also done her Advanced Diploma in Counselling from Prafulta and Applied Buddhist psychology from ARTH. Currently, she is a doctorate student in Psychology researching in the area of personality disorders.
She is highly passionate about art and has an extensive experience of working with diverse populations- children and adults with special needs, adults with mental illness, children and adolescents at risk and rehabilitation of mental illness clients using arts based therapies. She also conducts workshops and introspective art therapy sessions aimed at self growth and wellbeing. Currently, she is associated with Masina Hospital, NGOs working in the area of mental health and has her private practice at Santacruz.

  • Simone Gonsalves –  Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Simone has completed BA in Philosophy, with Psychology and English,  Interned at Institute for Exceptional Children (2015-16). Academic Experience – Co-operative Educational Program (CEP) at Wilson College, National Service Scheme (NSS), Local culture course-Mumbai, Graphology workshop at Wilson College.  She is currently doing her Masters in Psychology.  At Prafulta she is working as an  Occupational Therapy Assistant since 2014.

  • Sony Shah – Clinical Psychologist.

Sony has completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Mumbai University. She is proficient in child and adult assessment. She has been working as a Clinical Psychologist at Prafulta for the last two and a half years. She also works at REACH, an integrated school, in Andheri for the past three years. Sony is also a Consulting psychologist at Snehalaya family counseling center and at a Polyclinic at Charni Road. She also conducts classes on Personality development in Wadia School as a part of Wadia Young India .She has a keen interest in working with children and is passionate about learning new intervention skills.

  • Srilatha Srikant – Visiting Faculty

Srilatha is a visiting faculty at Prafulta. She has done her Masters in Clinical Psychology from SNDT Women’s University and a Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology from St. Xavier’s Institute of Education, Mumbai. She has been studying REBT under the guidance of Mr K.M. Phadke, a Fellow & Supervisor of Albert Ellis Institute, New York, USA. She facilitates weekend training programmes on REBT. She has been working with Prafulta for the past ten years as a Counselor. Besides individual counselling sessions at the centre for varied age groups, she also conducts workshops at schools and colleges for parents, students and teachers, on issues related to mental health. She is a Resource Person in the Advanced Diploma in Counselling, conducted by Prafulta, and takes sessions on REBT, Family therapy as well as modules on counseling aspects of learning disability.

  • Dr Syeda Ruksheda N – Psychiatrist (MBBS, DPM)

Ruksheda is an eminent Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist with a Medical Degree from the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Muncipal Medical College and Hospital, Sion, Mumbai. She further took her training in Psychiatry from the esteemed KEM Hospital and Seth G S Medical College, Parel, Mumbai. She has won numerous International awards and Fellowships. Ruksheda has a special interest in working with young adults, women and families. Getting involved in community outreach projects and activities is very close to her heart. She also amalgamates faith-based counseling in her work.

  • Sumati Purushottam – Remedial & Special Educator.

With a B. Com. from N M College (Mumbai University) and a PGDMM from TSM, Delhi, Sumati had a successful corporate career for over a decade with companies like The Times Group and Solutions Digitas. However, her interest in and passion for working with children with learning disabilities took her back to academics in 2014 at SNDT University, Mumbai for a B. Ed. (Special Education – Learning Disability). She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Professional registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India. She has now worked at Prafulta as a Remedial Teacher for 2 years. During this time, she has also continued her exploration of Special Education through short-term certificate courses in topics that help her design better Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and effectively executing the same.

  • Dr. Wilona Annunciation – Psychiatrist (MBBS, MD)

Dr. Wilona is a trained psychiatrist, working as a consultant at several hospitals and clinics across Thane. She consults at Prafulta Andheri once a week since 2015. She has dealt with a variety of psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress related disorders, personality disorders, dementia, substance abuse, behavioural addictions, sleep disorders and psychosis.
She has completed her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Psychiatry after having done her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from Grant Medical College, Mumbai.
She has a keen interest in preventive psychiatry and devotes a significant amount of time to creating awareness and battling the stigma associated with psychiatric illness.
A confident public speaker, she has conducted workshops and training programmes for organisations like Vashi Electricals, Cipla, Shaadi.com, Genesis Burson-Marsteller and Janus International.
She enjoys interacting with people and understanding their varied views which enables her to gain an insight into the complexities of human behaviour.

      • Serah Mathew – Secretary, Office Coordinator :

Serah has been associated with Prafulta Psychological Services since 13th July 2001 as Secretary cum Office Co-Ordinator.

      • Jasmine Bokke – Secretary cum Co-ordinator:

Jasmine Bokke worked as HR at EduPristine and  Mentorus Human Resoruce. She has also worked as a Teacher at Canossa Convent Primary School. At Prafulta she is working as Secretary Cum Co-ordinator since July 2018 (Typing of Psycho – Educational Reports).

      • Priyanka Thota – Secretary cum Co-ordinator:

Priyanka has worked with Manasvi Enterprises as a Customer Service Executive. She also worked with Aarav Associates as Team Co-Ordinator (i.e- Reporting Daily Files to Director, In-charge of Team for daily work to be done,Dec 2015 – Dec 2016). Priyanka has been associated at Prafulta as Secretary cum Co-Ordinator since Feb 2017. Her job also includes Typing of Occupational Therapy Evaluation reports, Data entry (day-to-day).

      • Pravi Maheshwari- Typing of VG Report and Scoring:

Pravi Maheshwari is a student of psychology studying at KJ Somaiya College who completed her A-Levels from Podar International School affiliated with Cambridge University.  She has worked with “Discoveries- Learning beyond horizons” as a designer and research consultant, helping children embrace profound nuances of learning. She is currently working under the Career Guidance team at Prafulta.
